Mission
The MISSION of the Bass Busters Team Tournament Trail has always been “To promote the positive experience of competitive tournament fishing, good sportsmanship and professionally run economical tournaments, while providing ample CASH Pay-Outs for excelling anglers.” This will always continue to be our focus.
Goal
The GOAL of the Bass Busters Team Tournament Trail is to continually improve our Tournaments, Pay-Outs and Advertising to attract more anglers and strengthen our Tournament Trail to be the leading organization for competitive fishing tournaments on Lake Okeechobee.
History
The History of the Bass Busters Organization started with its formation in Titusville, Florida in 1987. Bass Busters started running competitive fishing tournaments in 1987, as well as organizing and promoting the “Florida Fishing Show” on WAYK TV56. Bass Busters sponsored tournaments from Tallahassee to Cocoa to Clewiston in 1988. In 1989, Bass Busters claimed Clewiston as home base for the majority of its tournaments and has run tournaments there every month for the last 23 years. The Bass BustersTeam Tournament Trail has never cancelled a tournament since its start in 1987. To date the Bass Busters organization has run over 1000 fishing tournaments in the State of Florida, with over 800 of them being held in Clewiston, Florida on Lake Okeechobee.
Bass Busters plans to continue to strengthen its exposure in the Clewiston / Lake Okeechobee area through our weekly advertising in the local newspapers, involvement with the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce and continued direct US Mail and Email to all the anglers and potential anglers we can reach with our monthly newsletter.
Bass Busters Team Tournament Trails are also involved in other fishing tournaments that take place each year in Clewiston, Florida. For the last 23 Years, Bass Busters has hosted and sponsored the Toys 4 Tots fishing tournament. Our sole purpose of this event was to gather toys for the less fortunate children in the Clewiston area. Each year the toys are donated by the anglers and Bass Busters to the Clewiston Police Department for them to distribute in the local area. Bass Busters also organizes the BIG BUCKS Team Tournaments twice a year in Clewiston. These tournaments are focused on the anglers looking to score it BIGGER on the Pay-Outs. Bass Busters also hosts private fishing tournaments annually in Clewiston. In 2003, BASS BUSTERS was chosen to host a fishing tournament for the Speaker of the House from Washington, DC, Speaker Dennis Hastert, graciously we accepted and had a great time.
Bass Busters Team Tournament Trails has had a lot of fantastic experiences over the last 32 years, however, as we start our 30th year in Clewiston we are extremely excited about the potential that this new year will bring for our organization and ALL of our Sponsors. Roland and MaryAnn Martins Marina, Gambler / Bang Products, Eagle Claw Hooks and Equalizer Scales have been with us all 30 years and we hope they hang in there for the next 30 years.f
